Azerbaijan, Baku, 11 February / Trend corr. I.Khalilova / The Anti Monopoly State Service at the Economic Development Ministry of Azerbaijan is to restore monitoring in the motor market to meet antimonopoly and advertising standards, Samir Dadashev, the head of the Service, stated.
"Under work planned for 2008, the beginning of the process is expected by the end of April," Dadashev said.
The first monitoring in the motor market was implemented in 2007. The target of the monitoring was to reveal shortcomingsand their removal.
Monitoring covered enterprises engaged in car sales. Monitoring revealed shortcomings in auto shows, warranties, exploitation rules, and guarantee documents were in foreign languages.
Vehicle producers provide guarantees within a certain period of time. However, local enterprises render guarantees for certain spare parts. Consumers' choices are limited as they can only purchase spare parts at their companies. It is a contradiction of antimonopoly legislation. The Antimonopoly Service carries out measures to prevent such situations in the country.
