No Problem in Cargo Transportation between Azerbaijan and Georgia

Azerbaijan, Baku, 9 August / corr. Trend E.Ismayilov / There are no problems in cargo transportation and passengers' conveyance through railway transport between Georgia and Azerbaijan, the State Railway Department of Azerbaijan (SRD) said on 9 August.

"We regularly keep contact with the representatives of the Georgian railway. There are no problems in this direction," the Azerbaijani SR said.

A passenger train arrived in Baku from Tbilisi in the morning of 9 August, in line with schedule. We have not observed any problems in the cargo transportation between Georgia and Azerbaijan, the SR said.

Cargos are transported from Azerbaijan in main directions of the Georgian Black Sea ports of Batumi and Poti. The main volume of the cargo includes oil and oil products. In connection with the South Ossetia conflict, the Russian aircrafts bombed the Poti Port and the city was damaged as a result of it, the Russian and Georgian media reported. The main volume of bulk cargo, which is transported from Azerbaijan to Poti, includes light oil products.
