Azercell, U.S. Embassy in Azerbaijan announces English courses for journalists

The Azercell Telecom mobile operator and the U.S. Embassy in Azerbaijan announced admission of documents to special English courses for journalists. The courses will last seven months and will be trained by qualified tutors. In addition, journalists will also be trained of skill to write articles in English.

Professional journalists can also attend trainings. The trainings will be launched in February and will last until August. Candidates will be interviewed by the admission commission.

Those willing to attend courses must have minimum two year record of service. In addition, journalist must present a document from the head of his company allowing him to attend trainings.

In 2008, the Azercell Teleсom implemented similar English courses for journalists. Over 30 journalists attended the first training on three levels.

These courses are implemented within the framework of company's new strategy called İnkisafı Paylasmaq Platformu. This strategy is aimed to develop skills of journalists in Azerbaijan.
