First consultative meeting was organized with international donors in an effort to develop Azerbaijan's capital market, Azerbaijani State Securities Committee Chairman Rufat Aslanli said.
A study was conducted into securities market in the country in recent months and projects were developed as a result. International finance and donor organization proposed to tender technical assistance to realize the projects.
"The first consultative meeting aims to examine initiatives and to effectively coordinate technical assistance proposals. Technical assistance is very important for us," Aslanli said.
Furthermore, institutional form is being designed to avoid repetition of technical assistance projects.
The initiatives cover legislation, automation and improving trade system of the securities market, increasing potential of participants of stock market, promoting opportunities for participation in the market and training programs.
"We have defined six priority areas and we will hold consultations with donors on each the areas," Aslanli said.
