Under the changes and additions to the Code of Administrative Violations, Azerbaijan increased fine sanctions on violators of the rights of consumers, particularly for administrative violations in connection with trafficking in goods, the Ministry of Economic Development said.
"Changes in the Code came into force on 17 May," the report says.
According to the amendments, for the production or sale of prohibited goods (services, works), along with confiscation of property, fine sanctions at 1650 to 2200 manat will be applied to officials and at 350 to 500 manats - to individuals, the temperature regime for non-compliance and violations rules governing the storage and sale of goods, rules of an exchange or refund of goods - from 500 to 1000 manat.
Violations of pricing discipline, namely, if there is no price on goods and tariffs for services and work, as well as for their improper preparation, fine sanctions at 800 to 1000 manat will be applied.
For indication of prices for goods (and services) in the territory of Azerbaijan not with manats, penalties amount to 1,100-1,650 manat, for selling goods without a complex technical team of technical passport or misuse of passports to individuals - from 350 to 500 manats, for officers - from 1,650 to 2,200 manat. For the sale of expired goods, the manufacture and sale of goods (and services) that do not meet the standards and requirements of regulatory documents, for the sale of goods (and services), subject to certification, but not certified for the manufacture or sale of dangerous for the environment, health lives of citizens and goods not conforming to standards and other regulatory requirements, for the sale of dangerous goods without the presence of warning signs or information sheet on the rules of safe use and the environment - for the officers - the fines were determined from 1,500 to 2,000 manat, for corporate clients - from 4,000 to 5,000 manats
For misleading consumers about the weight, value of the organizations selling goods and providing services to the public, including individual entrepreneurs in the field of trade (services), officials will be fined at 500-1,000 manat, enterprises - 2,000-3,000 manats, if violations in a small amount - up to 40 manats. For the sale of alcoholic beverages produced at home - individuals will be fined at 800-1,000 manat, officials - 3,000- 5,000 manat
For the obstacles in conducting inspections by officials in order to protect consumer rights and access to facilities or the implementation of control measures, as well as in non-compliance fines, individuals will be fined at 500-600 manats, officials - at 3,000-4,000 manat. Penalties for failure to comply with written requirements of the officers on the elimination of violations of trade regulations and consumer rights range from 4,000 to 5,000 manat.
