Ashgabat hosted the seminar of the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) on "Financing and opportunities of IDB Group", which was attended by delegations from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
The IDB are represented by the bank's officials and its investment funds, and by the other participants - the specialists of the interested agencies. Projects which are implemented with the IDB's participation in the CIS countries were presented in the seminar.
Mission of the Islamic Bank spoke about the working methods of the IDB, the structural units and special programs, including the basic principles of finance, agreed with the laws of Shariah. The main theme is support for socio-economic development of member countries of IDB, as well as Muslim communities. Financing includes the strategic sectors of the economy such as energy, transport, communications, agriculture, construction, and others.
Priorities exist to support the development of health, education and science. IDB finances projects in both public and private sectors - through free loans, on the lease sale in installments, participation in the capital and others.
