The Azerbaijani State Committee on Standardization, Metrology and Patent sent results of monitoring into quality of baby products offered in Baku market to governmental agencies, the committee said on July 27.

These measures were taken to ensure safety and quality of baby toys and food, the committee said.

The results of monitoring, particularly the list of dangerous toys, were sent to the Azerbaijani State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs to educate about the danger of using these products and the Azerbaijani State Customs Committee to prevent  trafficking of such goods to ensure the safety of the domestic consumer market .

The Azerbaijani State Committee on Standardization, Metrology and Patent announced the results of monitoring into quality of baby toys in early July. Monitoring was done in Sabail, Nasimi and Garadagh districts of Baku. The committee employees took samples of toys of Chinese and Russian production from the inspected areas and tested in the laboratory under Committee. The analysis showed that the toys contained heavy metals, smell unfit to necessary standards and products characterized by unstable color and fragile seams.

The monitoring revealed toys, which were selling without a certificate of quality. Chinese made toys were of low-quality, the committee said.
