Memorandum on supply of Azerbaijan with grain signed in Kazakhstan

Kazakhstan signed the memorandum on guaranteed supplies of Kazakh grain to the Baku grain terminal for new mill complex, director of foreign economic department of Food Corporation JSC, Daulet Uvashev,told Trend correspondent in Astana.

"It deals with supply of high-quality wheat with gluten, at least 25 percent, for new mill complex", Daulet Uvashev said.

Chairman of Food Corporation said that a new mill complex will be launched this autumn.

"Upon the memorandum, Kazakhstan will supply high-quality wheat of new crop to the amount of 7,000-10,000 tons per month for its processing at new mill complex to provide Azerbaijani market with flour of high quality and bread. Deliveries will be made from this October", Uvashev said.

Kazakh wheat is delivered to Azerbaijan from Aktau port by sea through dry cargo, as well as railway.

"Baku Grain Terminal contains 500,000-800,000 tons per year.
It is expected that the terminal will receive the grain, not only for the South Caucasus, but also as transit for its delivery to Turkey and North Africa.

Due to high demand for Kazakh wheat in Azerbaijan after the launch of the terminal, it was.

Mill complex contains 150 tons. It is constructed on parity basis between the Kazakh and Azerbaijani sides.

After launching terminal, decision was made to build a new mill complex on the territory due to great demand for Kazakh wheat in Azerbaijan.
