Azersu Joint Stock Company (JSC) has divulged the results of the first half, the JSC said on Aug. 31.
During this period, Azerbaijan has taken several measures to improve the quality of water supplied to the population, the normal use of water and sewer system, Azersu reported.
In the first half, extensive work was also carried out to reconstruct the outdated water supply and sewerage system.
In January-June, Azerbaijan installed sewers, length of 28.8 kilometers, and water lines, 32 kilometers long, as well as three sub-artesian reservoirs were dug.
In this period, necessary measures have been taken to rehabilitate two reservoirs with a total capacity of 1,000 cubic meters, one unit to receive water, five reservoirs with a storage capacity of 40,500 cubic meters, equipment to purify sewage with a daily capacity of 200,000 cubic meters, two sewage pumping stations with total capacity of 56,300 cubic meters per day have been installed.
To improve water supply and sewerage system in the first half, water lines with length of 8.3 kilometers, and sewage - 7.2 km have been installed in the country's regions, the work has been conducted to reconstruct the two reservoirs with a storage capacity of 1,000 cubic meters, one unit has been installed to receive water and three sub-artesian reservoirs have been dug.
Totally, the Azersu subscribers, provided with meters number 339,900, including 319,700 - the population, 20,190 - organizations and enterprises
The number of subscribers, provided with meters in Azerbaijan totaled 274,430, including 260,700 - the population and 13,620 - organizations and enterprises.
The level of fee payments for services rendered amounted to 66.6 percent, including 49.7 percent were charges from the public and 87.1 percent - the enterprises and organizations.
