The Director of Board of Directors of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), Werner Gruber, will visit Azerbaijan from 13 to 16 September for the first time as a director, EBRD Baku office said.
"The main purpose of the visit of the Director of EBRD to Azerbaijan is to get familiarized with Bank's projects implemented in the country. The visit also has a diplomatic character, which occurs every two and a half years," the same source said.
During his visit, Gruber will meet with the Minister of Economic Development of Azerbaijan Shahin Mustafayev, as well as with the leadership of commercial banks in the country with which the EBRD co-operate.
Total EBRD implemented 90 projects in Azerbaijan, investing a total of $1.2 billion.
