The Azerbaijani Audit Chamber submitted proposals to the Cabinet of Ministers to tighten measures against individuals and legal entities that deviate from the audit, head of the Chamber, Vahid Novruzov, said on Sept.17.
"The proposals envisage supplementing a special article to the Code of Administrative Violations," Novruzov said.
According to Novruzov, the existing Azerbaijani legislation does not stipulate fines or other administrative sanctions on persons evading from audit.
"The sum of fine is still a subject of discussion," Novruzov said.
The Azerbaijani Audit Chamber was established in September 1995 and began functioning in April 1996. These activities are regulated by the Law "On audit activity" adopted on Sept.16, 1994. The amendments were injected to the law in 1996, 2001, 2002, 2004 and 2005.
At present, approximately 100 individuals and legal entities provide audit services in Azerbaijan.
