The State Securities Committee of Azerbaijan and the World Bank mission on consumer protection, chaired by Shon Mondino, discussed the WB Financial Consumer Protection and Financial Literacy report, prepared under the bank's project in the country, SSC said on Oct. 10.
During the meeting were identified opportunities for cooperation on the basis of the recommendations made by the bank. The sides discussed the current state of financial consumer protection, as well as short-and medium-term action plan that is recommended for this sphere.
World Bank appreciated the initiatives in this regard, as well as the concept of SSC to increase awareness and educate the population on the securities market in 2009-2011. As a result of the meeting the State Committee presented its proposals to the mission of World Bank regarding activities, and it was decided to coordinate it with the SSC concept of information and enlightenment.
