Russia and Kazakhstan sign memorandum on construction of carriage works

The memorandum on establishment of carriage works in Kazakh city of Ust-Kamenogorsk was signed between Kazakh national company 'Temir zholy' and Russian company 'Uralvagonzavod' in Astana on October 16, Russian minister of industry and trade Viktor Khristenko said at a press-conference after the 13-th meeting of the inter-governmental commission on cooperation between Kazakhstan and Russia on October 16.

The memorandum on establishment of carriage works in Kazakh city of Ust-Kamenogorsk was signed between Kazakh national company 'Temir zholy' and Russian company 'Uralvagonzavod' in Astana on October 16, Russian minister of industry and trade Viktor Khristenko said at a press-conference after the 13-th meeting of the inter-governmental commission on cooperation between Kazakhstan and Russia on October 16.

The inter-governmental commission presided by Viktor Khristenko and Kazakh minister of energy and mineral resources Sauat Mynbayev.

The project envisages production of 3,000 coaches per year at the first stage with increase up to 5,000 at the second stage.

"Signing of the memorandum in 2009 is landmark that the crisis obliged us not to search reasons but pushed to realization of our technical opportunities," Khristenko said.
