Azerbaijan, Baku, October 31 / Trend , U.Ismayilova /

State Customs Committee (SCC) of Azerbaijan plans to transfer the customs registration to the "single window" principle, SCC said.

"The introduction of information and communication technologies at the border checkpoints, including the transition to the "single window" principle, is part of the creation of "e-customs", the same source said.

These measures were noted during the Board meeting discussing the current situation and problems of introducing "single window" principle at the border checkpoints during checking-up of cargo and vehicles. The meeting was chaired by the Deputy Chairman of the SCC Asker Abdullayev.

The commission, established under the Customs Committee, presented the current status of the application of the principles of "single window" and "one stop", ensuring the quality of their applications and security, as well as problems and new proposals for using the software "single window".

On 11 November 2008, the President of Azerbaijan issued a decree on the implementation of the "single window" principle in the inspection of goods and vehicles at checkpoints of state borders from 1 January 2009. The decree stated that taking into account the Silk Way and the transport corridor "North-South" is an important part of Azerbaijan, it is extremely important to increase the capacities of the state borders. According to the decree, the introduction of the "single window" principle was aimed at creating the necessary conditions for the removal of artificial obstacles during inspection of goods and vehicles for import and export operations in accordance with modern requirements.
