Turkmenistan has started the privatization of its food industry, an official Turkmen source reported.
According to the source, the sale of the state's share in companies and the privatization of several enterprises are under way.
Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said that the privatization is one of the important aspects of the continuous large-scale economic reform.
"The active involvement of the private sector in national programs is important for socio-economic growth and improvement of the welfare of the Turkmen people," he said.
