British company De La Rue International Limited is taking steps to fully expand and deepen mutually beneficial partnership with Turkmenistan, CEO of the company James Hussey said. He was received by Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhammedov, who also expressed full commitment.
Turkmen leader expressed gratitude for the high quality of banknotes and coins made by De La Rue before, including valuable numismatic series, national TV channel Altyn Asyr said.
The information said that the company contributed to the development and production of Turkmen banknotes since its independence.
Hussey noted that the specialists with great responsibility and enthusiasm came fulfilled new orders of the Turkmen side, especially the design of Turkmen manat.
According to the TV, head of the company voiced a proposal to establish production of banknote paper on the basis of raw materials derived from Turkmen cotton, corresponding to the highest international quality standards. Berdimuhammedov approved the initiative.
