Azerbaijan has maximal payments via national payment systems in July

The volume of payments through the national inter-bank system of large payments (AZIPS) since early 2010 reached its maximal index worth 6,78 billion manat increasing by 53.4 percent or 2.4 billion manat, the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) said.

The volume of payments via AZIPS increased by 15.2 percent in July or 0.9 billion manat.

In July, the volume of transactions through the payment clearing system of small payments (XONKS) increased by 19.5 percent and hit 630 million manat. In June, the figure was 527 million manat.

The maximal amount of payments via XONKS system fell to July from early 2010 increasing by 66.2 percent.

About 33,000 payments, or 3 percent more compared to June were carried out via AZIPS system for the reported period.

About 913,000 payments or 2.7 percent less than for a comparable period were carried out through XONKS.

The number of users of AZIPS payment system was 49 and XONKS payment system - 53 in July.

CBA National Payment Systems for small payments (XONKS) and large payments (AZIPS) were created under the state program of development of the national payment system in 2005-2007. The center for utility has been created on the basis of XONKS. It provides an opportunity to transfer funds and receive accounts on-line. It will be possible to avoid abuses in the bank branches.
