Iran and Turkey will hold a joint trade committee in the Iranian month of Aban (October 23-November21).

Different commercial topics, exporters' issues, and border trades will be discussed during the event, the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting reported.

The Turkish ambassador to Iran Umit Yardim during his meeting with Iran's Commerce Minister Mehdi Ghazanfari invited the Iranian minister to attend the next meeting of the Organization of the Islamic Conference's Standing Committee for Economic and Trade Cooperation (COMCEC) which will be held in Turkey from October 6-10.

In February Tehran and Ankara signed a preferential trade agreement on the sidelines of the 21st meeting of Iran-Turkey joint economic commission.

According to the agreement in 8 years the tariffs will decrease 15 percent. The agreement covers 85 percent of the goods.

Currently the two countries' annual trade value stands at over $11 billion and the two sides hope to raise this figure to $25 million.
