The International Finance Corporation (IFC), World Bank and the Georgian government will hold a conference on “improving the business environment in the region" at the Radisson Hotel. The event which will be attended by senior officials from 30 countries.

The International Finance Corporation (IFC), World Bank and the Georgian government will hold a conference on "improving the business environment in the region" at the Radisson Hotel. The event which will be attended by senior officials from 30 countries.

Georgian Prime Minister Nika Gilauri will open the conference,.

The conference will consider reforms implemented to improve the business environment in Georgia, Eastern Europe and Central Asia, as well as their role in the development of private business. The event will be attended by over 100 delegates.

Based on the "Doing Business 2011" report, Georgia ranks first among 174 countries in terms of improving its business regulatory environment over the past five years.

The IFC Tbilisi Office told Trend that "Doing Business 2011" reviewed the rules that regulate business in the country during the full cycle of production, which envisages starting businesses and operations, foreign trade, tax payment and closing businesses.

However, the IFC added that the research did not assess all aspects of doing business that impact companies and investors, such as security, macroeconomic stability, corruption, worker skill level and financial system stability.
