Creating a single real estate cadastre system in Azerbaijan will cover all real estate objects in the country, as well as confirm their legal rights by the state. It will mean fixing these rights by citizens, Ramiz Guliyev, the director of the Azerbaijani State Property Committee's Technical Inventory and Real Estate Cadastre Center, said during a presentation today.

"Creating a single cadastre system provides an opportunity for science-based management of real estate property. It contributes to its more efficient use," Guliyev said.

He added that the system will be also used by the relevant executive authorities, municipalities, ad legal and physical entities.

Registering addresses will take place as part of the single cadastre. At present, the address cards of the Sabail and Yasamal districts have been developed. Work on developing the address map throughout the country is being conducted within a joint project between the Azerbaijani and Norwegian governments. It will be continued until 2011.

Guliyev said that about 15,000 state real estate objects are situated in the country. The e-card must be completed by 2011.

"Citizens and entrepreneurs also lose their property as a result of natural disasters. It increases the need for establishing a real estate insurance system in Azerbaijan. The formation of such a system is also connected with the creation of a single real estate cadastre system," Guliyev said.
