Finance Minister Kakha Baindurashvili predicts that Georgia will turn into a country-corn exporter from 2012, minister said in the Parliament while considering the draft state budget for 2011.
He said that Georgia will be able to fully replace imported corn and become a country-corn exporter in 2012.
Baindurashvili said that corn is feed for animals. This process will have an impact on prices.
Next year the state plans to spend 40 million lari to buy corn and wheat seeds.
