Georgia releases Filipino vessel after paying fine

Leonardo Atiemza, a Filipino citizen and the captain of the “Mohave Maiden" dry cargo ship, flying under the Filipino flag, paid 65,000 lari to the budget of Georgia. He also compensated for environmental damage at a rate of 68.46 lari, the Georgian Border Police told Trend.

Leonardo Atiemza, a Filipino citizen and the captain of the "Mohave Maiden" dry cargo ship, flying under the Filipino flag, paid 65,000 lari to the budget of Georgia. He also compensated for environmental damage at a rate of 68.46 lari, the Georgian Border Police told Trend.

According to the information, the vessel was entitled to free operation.

The vessel was detained on Jan. 17 near the ninth berth port of Batumi after polluting the sea with harmful substances.
