The next (fourth) phase of the certification of appraisers in Azerbaijan will be held in May, the coordinator of the Azerbaijani Society of Appraisers Amil Ismailov said.
"At present, the society conducts the preparatory work for the next phase of certification, in particular the process of gathering information about the real estate market of the country" he said.
He said that there are many those wishing to participate in the certification assessment activities, but the society of appraisers will choose only those that meet the relevant requirements.
The first phase of certification of appraisers in Azerbaijan was held in March 2009. Three appraisers were certified. Four appraisers were certified within the second phase in June last year. Nobody passed the exam during the third stage of certification of appraisers in Azerbaijan, held April 21.
The International Finance Corporation (IFC), the Russian Society of Appraisers (RSA) and the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) participated in the process of certification of appraisers, as observers.
Appraisal activity in Azerbaijan is regulated by the law "On appraisal activity" adopted in 1995.
