According to the Azerbaijani State Customs Committee, vehicles transported 13,535 million tons of cargo in January-March or 15.85 percent more than in 2010, the committee said.
Exports of goods in this period amounted to 8,199 million tons, imports - 2,207 million tons.
Roughly 43,568 tons of cargo was transported by sea, 705,443 tons by railway, 131,619 tons by cars and 832,65 tons by air in the first quarter. The transportation by stationary vehicles totaled 7.316 million tons.
Roughly 264,560 tons were imported by sea, 1.545 million tons by railway, 387,075 million tons by cars and 4,310 tons by air.
Roughly 3.129 million tons of cargo was transported by transit through Azerbaijan in January-March 2011.
