Uzbekistan's largest coal producer Uzbekugol has indefinitely delayed the construction of an aluminous cement production plant worth about U.S. $900 million in the country's Tashkent Region, a spokesperson for the fuel and energy department at the Uzbek government told PRIME Monday.

The spokesperson said that an additional estimate showed that the current version of the project is unfeasible. No further details were provided.

Uzbekugol initially planned to build an aluminous cement production plant, which is to use the resources of the Angrenskoye brown coal deposit located in the Tashkent Region, in 2011-2014.

The annual production capacity of the plant was estimated at 500,000 tonnes of alumina and 7 million tonnes of cement of the М-700 and М-800 types.
