The total deposit base of the Azerbaijani banks increased by 3.5 percent in June and by 8.8 percent since early 2011, the Central Bank of Azerbaijan reported.
As of early July, the total amount of bank deposits and deposits of legal entities and individuals amounted to 5. 930 billion manat compared to 5.729.3 billion manat as of early early June, and 5.448.8 billion manat as of early 2011. Of this amount, 2.702.9 billion manat were in the national currency and 3.227.1 billion manat - in hard currency.
In June, deposits of individuals increased by 3.9 percent and deposits of legal entities - by 2.9 percent. Deposits of individual customers increased by 13.9 percent and deposits of corporate clients - by 2.3 percent compared to early 2011.
As of early July, the volume of deposits of individuals in the country's banks amounted to 3.451.4 billion manat compared to 3.321.5 billion manat at of early June and 3.29.8 billion manat as of Jan.1.
As of early July, the volume of deposits of legal entities in the country's banks amounted to 2.478.9 billion manat compared to 2. 407.9 billion manat at of early June and 2 .419 billion manat as of Jan.1.
The official exchange rate is 0.7863 manat to $1 on Aug. 19.
