IMF: Iran's GDP to hit 2.5 percent

Iran's real gross domestic product (GDP) will reach 2.5 percent by the end of 2011 and 3.4 percent in 2012, reported International Monetary Fund (IMF).

According to IMF's September report, Iran's unemployment rate is 15.3 percent and is likely to reach 15.6 percent in 2012.

The Iranian government has not published the economic growth (GDP rate) since the summer of 2008.

Earlier, the Central Bank of Iran issued statistics of Iran's inflation rate for the past twelve months through July, showing 16.3 percent. However, the report made by the Statistical Center of Iran says that the country's inflation rate is 19.6 percent.

The Statistical Center of Iran also reported that the country's unemployment rate is 13.5 percent.
