Of this around nine million euros will be allocated to support small and medium enterprises producing, processing and selling agricultural products within an agricultural finance programme.
About 20 million euros will be allocated to make investments within the renewable energy programme. The programme aims to refurbish small hydroelectric power stations. They are normally financed through the commercial banks operating in Georgia. A grant of around 4.25 million euros will be used to promote protected areas and to expand their geographic area. About 13.5 million euros in a grant form were allocated to promote institutional strengthening in terms of environmental protection.
About seven million euros were allocated to rehabilitate sewer systems in the centre of Batumi. The Germans have also examined the possibility of providing support to Georgia to implement the project of modern landfills.
