Uzbekistan intends to increase production of steel pipes in 2012 - 2015, a source in the governmental circles told Trend.

Particularly, the Uzbek-Russian joint venture "Tashkent Tube Plant" to realize two projects by 2015 to expand production of large diameter pipe - electric-welded steel pipe of standard APL-SP SL with a diameter from 325 mm to 720 mm and standard APL-SP SL with a diameter from 820 mm to 1620 mm.

The enterprise plans to launch the production of pipes with a diameter of 325 mm - 720 mm in the third quarter of 2012, the second project - the fourth quarter of 2014.

The total design capacity of the two projects worth about $9 million ($ 7.4 million and $ 1.5 million, respectively) - is 24,000 tons of pipes annually.

The project will be funded through the company's own funds.
In addition, the Uzbek Metallurgical Plant in 2012-2015 plans to build the production of steel pipes worth $ 90 million, the source said.
Production of hot-rolled seamless pipe with a diameter from 25 to 426 mm with wall thickness up to 20 mm is planned to start in 2013. The designed capacity of 30,000 tons annually is expected to be reached in 2015.

Project will be financed by loans worth $ 50 million from the Uzbek banks, a loan worth $ 30 million from the Reconstruction and Development Fund of Uzbekistan and $ 10 million -Uzmetcombinat.
