Georgia, Tbilisi, Dec 8 /Trend N.Kirtzkhalia/

The prospect for future GUAM development is related to specific economic projects rather than political activity, the Georgian expert Tornike Sharashenidze said to Trend on Thursday.

Azerbaijan headed GUAM, which unites Georgia, Ukraine, Azerbaijan and Moldova.

"It is necessary to resolve economic issues, as well as cooperate in the energy sector, which could be very promising within GUAM," Sharashenidze said.

Sharashenidze noted that these countries have more opportunities for economic cooperation and this would lead to a rapprochement in the political sphere.

Economic expert Nodar Khaduri believes that the deepening of cooperation within GUAM is prospective.
