Azerbaijani Unibank plans to open the first 24-hour branch in the country in 2012, the bank told Trend on Monday.

"The first twenty-four-hour bank branch will be located in the center of the city, in the pedestrian area, and it will provide all banking services 24 hours a day," the bank said.

The study of demand is implemented today, and presumably a branch will be opened near the Sahil metro station.

"In addition, the bank plans to open two similar branches in 2012, one in Baku and another one in the region of the country," the bank said.

Unibank was established on Oct. 15, 2002 as a result of a merger between MBANK and PROMTEKHBANK private commercial banks. Unibank is a universal finance and credit institution offering retail and corporate services. The shareholders are financial institutions such as the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (15.1515 per cent) and the German Investment Corporation DEG (8.3333 per cent).
