Ukrainian, Uzbek business circles to hold negotiations

The delegation of Ukrainian business circles will hold talks with several Uzbek ministries and departments on Feb. 5-6, a source in governmental circles told Trend on Friday.

Intensifying economic relations between Ukraine and Uzbekistan and future cooperation between specific business bodies will be discussed in a bilateral format.

The representatives of Ukrainian business circles will accompany Ukrainian Foreign Minister Konstantin Grishchenko during his visit to Uzbekistan.

He said the delegation includes the heads of such large enterprises as the Sumsky plant, Nasosenergomash, Ukrinterenergo, Ukravto corporation and other enterprises.

It was previously reported that during the talks with Uzbek leadership, the Ukrainian FM plans to discuss energy cooperation, as Uzbekistan has great volumes of energy resources.

According to the Uzbek State Statistics Committee, the trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Ukraine in 2010 amounted to $552.6 million.

This allowed Ukraine to take the third place among the CIS countries in terms of trade turnover.

Over 50 companies with Ukrainian capital operate in Uzbekistan.
