The World Bank (WB) will start implementation of four projects worth $48 million in Tajikistan in 2012, World Bank Strategy and Operations Director Theodor Alers told Tajik President Emomali Rahmon on Tuesday, CA-News reported.
At the meeting the sides stressed that the WB supports the implementation of 14 projects in the spheres of education, health, agriculture, energy with a total cost of $190 million.
The sides also underscored that energy is a prior sphere of the cooperation between the WB and Tajikistan.
They expressed their support for implementation of the joint projects in energy loss reduction, use of alternative energy sources, as well as development of hydropower industry in the country.
Tajikistan and the WB also discussed expertise of the Rohun Hydropower Plant project.
