An equivalent Silicon Valley under the banner of Nazarbayev University will be created in Kazakhstan, Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev told media during a visit to the university.
Nazarbayev University is now the flagship among all the Kazakh universities," he said. "High level specialists are trained there. We will create industrial parks and Silicon Valley over a long term, a place where graduates of this university will be able to use their knowledge. Once we master the science, our country will be able to get ahead."
The President also stressed that the number of school leavers being taught in the Kazakh language will increase among the Nazarbayev University students. This is a positive fact. "This is very important for us," Mr Nazarbayev said.
