Some 12 million tons of grain, taking into account the flour in grain equivalent, was shipped for export from Kazakhstan from July 1, 2011 to June 30, 2012, which is 2.2 times more than in the 2010-2011 marketing year, representative of the Ministry of Agriculture management of Kazakhstan Anna Buts said at a briefing on Tuesday.
"Some 8.4 million tons of grain in the form of flour and weighing 2.6 million tons was exported. This means the average monthly shipment of grain for export amounted to more than one million tons," Buts said.
Allocation of funds to the amount of 15 billion tenge ($ 1 - 147, 8 tenge) to subsidise transport costs for carrying the grain for export at the rate of $40 per ton from the state budget contributes to export growth.
"Overall some 2.5 million tons of Kazakh grain is shipped for export by subsidies," the representative of the Ministry of Agriculture said.
