Number of taxpayer-debtors in Azerbaijan seriously reduced

The volume of tax debts in Azerbaijan decreased by 8.3 per cent compared to January 2012 and by 17.8 per cent compared to the same period last year.

This is stated in a report published on Wednesday in an official publication of the Ministry of Taxes of Azerbaijan - the newspaper Vergiler.

Debts of 77,880 taxpayers, accounting for 90.1 per cent of the total number (of 86,478), have been fully eliminated in the first half of the year.

'And with the 7042 taxpayers who had debts at the beginning of 2012, the total number of taxpayers whose debts have been liquidated amounted to 84 922 people (98.2 per cent)', the statement reported.

During the reporting period, 27.8 per cent of the budget revenues are generated through tax deductions of the debtors, late payers, penalties and enforcement of tax arrears.

'It means that the level of voluntary compliance has increased from 68.8 to 72.2 per cent compared to the same period last year. Tax authorities made 22,816 decisions on inventories in order to ensure payment of taxpayers' debts. In connection with the elimination of debts 21, 481 solutions accounting for 94.1 per cent of the total number of decisions for a total of 82 million manat, has been closed ', the statement concluded.
