We consider the reasonability of building the airport at the city of Naphthalene (West Azerbaijan), head of the State Administration of Civil Aviation Arif Mammadov said in an interview on Tuesday.
"Maybe there will be an airport in the future and [...] as I said, the construction of the airport in Naftalan is considered," Mammadov said.
He added that there are 6 airports in Azerbaijan.
On the issue of aircraft fleet upgrade, Mammadov said 46 aircrafts out of 70 operating are new. Azerbaijan Airlines and the private airline Silk Way received four new liners this year, and one more will be received until the end of the year. All of them are Boeing-747 and Boeing-767 meeting all the standards.
