Azerbaijan increases yield on bank deposits in national currency

The average rate on deposits in manat amounted to 10.33 percent on July 1 compared to 10.32 percent on June 1, 2012, 10.65 per cent - on July 1, 2011, the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) said on Tuesday.

The average rate on deposits in foreign currency amounted to 10.79 percent compared to 11.01 percent and 11 percent respectively.

On July 1 the average rate on deposits of individuals in manat was 10.77 percent, June 1 - 10.74 percent, at the beginning of July 2011 - 11.42 percent. The average rate on individuals' deposits in foreign currencies amounted to 10.98 percent compared to 11.21 percent and 11.15 percent respectively.

The average rate on deposits of legal entities in manat was 6.25 percent at the beginning of July, compared to 6.12 percent on June 1, 2012 and 5.95 percent - on July 1, 2011. The average rate on deposits from corporate customers in foreign currency was 5.11 percent compared to 5.27 percent and 8.14 percent respectively.
