Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan have signed a package of intergovernmental agreements in Ashgabat, Altin Asir national TV channel reported on Wednesday.

A programme of cooperation between the MFAs of the two countries; a protocol on amendments to an intergovernmental agreement on cooperation in the field of renovation work on agricultural structures located on border territories of the countries signed in 2008; agreement on mutual supply, agreement on economic cooperation in 2013-2017 are among documents signed.

A number of bilateral agreements in the field of cultural and humanitarian partnership: an agreement between the Turkmen Academy of Sciences and the Uzbek Committee on coordination of science and technology development under the Cabinet of Ministers and an agreement on cooperation between Turkmen Council of artists and Uzbek Academy of art have been signed previously.

Last year total trade turnover between the countries reached 500 million dollars. The parties underlined the possibilities for a growth of positive dynamics in these fields and are planning to double the volume of mutual trade.

The joint Turkmen Uzbek commission on trade and economic science, technical and cultural cooperation is planning to use additional reserves in order to increase the volumes of mutual trade and extend the nomenclature of mutual exports and imports.
