MasterCard International payment system will introduce a service, enabling to make payments by mobile phone in 2013, MasterCard country manager in Azerbaijan Hakan Acar told Trend on Wednesday.
"We pay great attention to the development of mobile payments and we are holding a leading position on many indices on this market in the world," he said. "We want to bring that experience to Azerbaijan. We hope to see using mobile phones for non-cash payments in 2013."
He added that MasterCard is in talks with mobile operators and banks on the issue.
"MasterCard Mobile's service will enable paying for telecommunication services, utilities, money transfers through the Internet or mobile phone," he said. "A service is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week without breaks and days off."
