Unique recycling plant launched in Kazakhstan

In Astana, Kazakhstan, a unique waste processing complex, which has no match in the CIS, was launched, the official website of the city of Astana reports.

"Presentation of the solid waste sorting and recycling complex was held on Monday in Astana. Maslikhat secretary Sansyzbai Yesil and deputy mayor of the city of Astana, Vasily Krylov personally tracked the plants operation from the initial stage of a waste delivery to complete waste sorting and recycling," statement says.

The design capacity of the plant will be 250,000 tons per year.

According to the official site, all waste collected in the city will be converted into secondary raw materials: ecowool, film, flexo, granulated plastic flakes and leaf plate.

The plant was built through investments from Akimat.

"In addition to useful products produced by complex, the plant will help increase the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and landfill disposal of 5-6. It will contribute to the improvement of the ecological state of the city. Also there's great social and economic importance: more than 350 people are employed there," the official website of the city says.
