Iran’s average diesel oil consumption surpasses 122 million liters per day

Iran's average diesel oil consumption stood at 122.2 million liters per day in the week to January 26.

The amount shows 10 per cent increase compared to its preceding week, the SHANA News Agency reported.

Deputy Manager of National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company (NIOPDC) Naser Sajjadi said on October 22, 2012 that averagely some 92 liters of diesel oil were consumed daily in the first seven months of the current Iranian calendar year, which began on March 20, 2012.

The amount is 4.2 percent more that the same period of the previous year.

Iran's average gasoline consumption also stood at 63.6 million liters per day in the week to January 26.

According to Sajjadi, averagely some 64 million liters of gasoline were also consumed during the first seven months of current year, which is 5.7 per cent more that the same time span previous year.

Sajjadi had previously said that Iran's gasoline consumption increases by 5 per cent each year.
