Hungary intends to expand cooperation with Azerbaijan in the field of agriculture, Hungarian State Secretary for Rural Development Gyula Budai told the media today.

He said that it is expected to cooperate in such areas as livestock, poultry and dairy products.

Hungary is interested in exporting cattle to Azerbaijan, he said.

The cooperation is being considered in the sphere of ecology, in particular, ground water treatment, eliminating the erosion and soil contamination consequences.

He added that along with this, it is planned to cooperate in the field of gardening and vegetable growing, in particular, adaptation to new types of grapes in Azerbaijan, cooperation in the construction of granaries.

The visit of an Azerbaijan delegation led by Budai will last from March 11-14. The delegation, including representatives from public and private sectors attended the first meeting of the agriculture subcommittee of the Azerbaijani-Hungarian Intergovernmental Commission.

The Hungarian companies representing the sectors of livestock, poultry, grain growing, agricultural equipment production, fodder, milk, biotechnology research, environmental restoration, etc. attend the forum organized by AZPROMO.
