In 2012, 4.7 billion manat was allocated to finance activities under the State Programme on the regional socio-economic development for 2009-2013 in Azerbaijan.

This was stated by Prime Minister Artur Rasizade during a discussion of the government's report on last year's outcomes at the parliament.

"Two state programmes for regional development implemented in Azerbaijan are yielding positive results. 16 billion manat was allocated to finance the state programme for 2009-2012 which exceeds the costs of the first state programme by 2.4 times," Rasizade said.

According to him, over 2.1 billion manat has been allocated for implementation of the state programme on socio-economic development of Baku and its settlements.

"In total, 2974 private houses, 19 schools and other facilities were built in Zagatala, Balaken and Gakh as part of measures to eliminate the consequences of the earthquake. More than 3000 families received financial aid for reconstruction of their houses," Rasizade said.

The official exchange rate on March 15 is 0.7848 AZN / USD.
