The "Greater Baku Regional Development Plan" encompasses new highways that connect Khirdalan and Sabunchi with Binagadi, the project's plan said.
"It has been suggested that if the highway is to be built, a bridge should be built over Boyuk Shor Lake. The plan will also cause an increase in the use of existing highways between H.Z. Tagiyev and Sahil', the project says.
The project also reflects the proposed reconstruction of the territory between Sabunchi and Zikh. This work includes the completion of the eastern part of the second ring road around Baku Amplithearter.
"Considering expected population growth and an increase in workplaces along the Baku-Sangachal-Alyat corridor, the Baku-Alyat supporting road, which parallels the corridor" should be paved, the plan says.
The project is expected to be completed by 2030, it is currently being discussed by state agencies and will likely be approved within the next several months.
