President Aliyev: Officials should be modest, serve nation

Azerbaijan, Baku, September 11 /Trend/

Officials should be modest, serve nation, and show devotion to state and statehood, President Ilham Aliyev said during conversation with the family members of the internally displaced person from Agdam region, martyr's widow Safura Huseynova at the tea table.

The head of state became familiar with a new quarter of 15 five-storey residential houses built for 866 IDP families in Barda.

During the conversation Safura Huseynova noted that the head of the state celebrates his birthdays among the people.

"Some officials used to hold lush jubilees, and celebrated their birthdays for several days. They also invited singers from abroad. These are inadmissible things, it is conceit. It can't be called otherwise. This is unbearable. Therefore I told them harshly that I will be removing them from their posts. I believe that it also became a lesson," Ilham Aliyev stated.

According to him, there should be rules of normal behavior in a society.

"The rule of law is above everything. But our society has its own foundations, traditions, and national values. There is respect to the elder, treatment of young, norms of behavior. We can't violate them. Our national values kept us as a nation for centuries. Relations between elder and young, rules of normal behavior are the factors which affirm and demonstrate our national particularities. Therefore, there are shouldn't be inappropriate actions, lush events. Officials should be modest, serve nation, and show devotion to state and statehood," President Aliyev said.
