The cost of living per capita amounted to 797 lira in Turkey as of August 2013 or by 15 lira more than in the same month of last year, the Turkish Statistics Institute's report said today.
According to the report, the rate of poverty in Turkey in August was 293 lira or by 10 lira less than in the same month of last year.
Food prices in Turkey decreased by 0.47 percent. The prices on clothing and footwear increased by 1.87 percent, medicines and health services - by 0.38 percent, transport - by 0.54 percent, services decreased by 0.33 percent in August.
The official exchange rate is 2,0137 TRY/USD on Sept. 12.
