KATCO LLP JV, a joint subsidiary of the French AREVA and Kazakh Kazatomprom has produced around 20,000 tons of uranium since the beginning of its industrial production in 2005, Kazatomprom said.

"This figure was reached on Dec.2, less than three years after the production of around 10,000 tons of uranium in March 2011," Kazatomprom said.

Modern facilities and installations for the production, processing and bagging of several thousand tons of uranium per year are allocated at the mines.

KATCO LLP JV produced more than 3,600 tons of uranium in 2012 and plans to produce around 4,000 tons in 2013.
