Tajikistan plans to reduce cement imports due to growth in this product's domestic production, Avesta.tj reported.
The country produced over 306,000 tons of cement during eleven months of 2013, indicating cement production's growth of 83,200 tons compared to the same period of 2012.
Growth was reached after a large new cement plant was put into operation in the Yavan region of the country.
Tadjikcement, another cement plant, which operates in Dushanbe, produces about 10,000 tons of cement per month. Now the plant uses half of its production capacity. It will start working in full capacity next year.
