Foreign trade surplus exceeds $12 bln in Azerbaijan

The Azerbaijani State Customs Committee announced an increase in the volume of foreign trade operations by 3.86 percent in January-November 2013 compared to the same period of last year, the committee said today.

Azerbaijan's foreign trade partners for this period numbered 148 countries.

According to the report, the total trade turnover of Azerbaijan was estimated at $31.72 billion.

Black ink exceeding $12 billion was formed in foreign trade operations.

According to the report, about 6,627 legal and physical entities were involved in foreign economic activities during this period, 3,736 being legal entities and 2,891 physical entities.

Export operations reached $21.99 billion in January-November which is 0.46 percent more compared than the same period of 2012.

The public sector share in export operations was estimated at $20.51 billion (93.27 percent), the private sector share - $1.27 billion (5.78 percent) and physical entities' share- $213.01 million (0.97 percent).

Imports were estimated at $9.73 billion in January-November which is 15.17 percent more compared to the same period of 2012.

The public sector share in import operations was estimated at $3.01 billion (30.94 percent), private sector share- $6.27 billion (64.44 percent) and physical entities share - $443.88 million (4.56 percent).

About 2,031 kinds of goods were exported and 6,051 imported to Azerbaijan in January-November.
